Solusoap, a Carbon-Minimal Hand Soap

Product Plug TLDR @ the end. We'd been using Restore Naturals bulk liquid hand soap from Seward Co-op. We liked getting it in bulk, and liked the biodegradable ingredients. I suspected we weren't coming out much ahead on costs compared to aquiring it in 64oz refills, and there were drawbacks getting it from the co-op, lugging it downstairs, decanting it as needed, how much plastic waste was created. Also, I've learned over time that a major driver of carbon creating is shipping weight, and there's a lot of water weight involved. In the interest of cost savings, simple ingredients, and carbon cutting, we tried a small sampling of hand soap concentrate and powders. We've landed on Solusoap in a big way. The ten pack in particular uses an extremely small amount of nonrecoverable material, and shipping weight is 1.5 ounces for what becomes 100 ounces with your tap water. Purchasing Prescription Medications Without Insurance

I am without prescription medication coverage while I wait to hear back from my employer's insurance provider and I need to get a 30-day supply of my four daily medications. If you are or have ever been without insurance, you know how expensive (and sometimes scary) my situation can be. I did some sleuthing today to compare costs between different retailers and I want to pass on my results because I know I am not alone amongst my peers in being in this situation. Your results will, of course, vary depending on medications. While Costco was the cheapest for initial costs by between $100 & $200 dollars a medication, I ended going with Target. They have a program for uninsured customers dropping their total by over $100. The discount brought them within $3 of Costco, so I filled there and saved myself a trip to the 'burbs.
