Product Plug TLDR @ the end. We'd been using Restore Naturals bulk liquid hand soap from Seward Co-op. We liked getting it in bulk, and liked the biodegradable ingredients. I suspected we weren't coming out much ahead on costs compared to aquiring it in 64oz refills, and there were drawbacks getting it from the co-op, lugging it downstairs, decanting it as needed, how much plastic waste was created. Also, I've learned over time that a major driver of carbon creating is shipping weight, and there's a lot of water weight involved. In the interest of cost savings, simple ingredients, and carbon cutting, we tried a small sampling of hand soap concentrate and powders. We've landed on Solusoap in a big way. The ten pack in particular uses an extremely small amount of nonrecoverable material, and shipping weight is 1.5 ounces for what becomes 100 ounces with your tap water.
